We are proud to recognize the continuing scholars for 2024:

**AMANDA HERTZ (2023 recipient) After completing her AA degree while in high school, she met all pre-requisites to enter an intensive nursing program at Santa Fe College in Gainesville and will complete the program in December 2024.

**SYDNEY SYLVESTER seeks nursing school after she completes her engineering degree at UF in 2025. She works directly with cardiologists creating 3D-printed heart models and volunteers in the pediatric cardiac ICU at Shands Hospital in Gainesville. Her focus is in the medical device industry to “helping surgeons treat their patients better”

**MARGARET GUPTON, in her third semester of the master’s program at USF, will graduate in 2025 as a speech pathologist. Recently completing her first externship, she is applying to Johns Hopkins for inpatient or outpatient rehabilitation

**JOSEPH DOLCE (Microbiology 2026) has completed his first two years at UF and remains on a pre-med track. He volunteers with “Footprints”, a buddy support program at Shands and is part of the UF Chemistry Club outreach program, as well as the treasurer. He is a first responder for the Gator Emergency Response Unit and teaches CPR.

**GABRIELLE MONK will graduate in 2026 from UF’s Nursing program. She is now a certified Emergency first responder and works as a CAN. She has been shadowing nurse practitioners and volunteers extensively.
