St. Johns County Medical Alliance represents spouses of St. Johns County physicians. Its purpose is to promote health education, identify and address health-care needs and issues, participate in health-related legislation, and provide college scholarships to St. Johns County students.
This year's continuation scholars also receiving awards from the SJCMA!
Hunter Green, graduate of Samford University, is at Alabama College of
Osteopathic Medicine. He will become a Family Practice physician.
Sycora Benavides is studying Health Science at the University of Florida on
a pre-physical therapy track.
Rachel Gupton is studying Nursing at the University of Florida with a
minor in Disabilities in Society.
Emily Lube is on a pre-medicine track at the University of Florida.
Jensen Thompson studies Health Education and Behavior at the University of
Florida, working towards her pre-medicine plan with interests in pediatrics and
cardiology.

Academic Scholarships
to Local Students

The St. Johns County Medical Alliance has awarded scholarships to two graduating
St. Johns County high school seniors pursuing further education in health-related
fields.
Margaret Gupton, from Creekside High School, will study Health Science at The
University of Florida. She plans to ultimately become an occupational
therapist.
Claire Moritz , from Ponte Vedra High School, will study Biochemistry at The
Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, Georgia with the future aim to
apply to medical school.
Each
year, the St. Johns County Medical Alliance, in conjunction with the St. Johns
County Medical Society, offers academic scholarships to graduating St. Johns County high school seniors pursuing an
education in pre-medicine, nursing, or allied health. Scholarship applicants
are evaluated on academic ability, school involvement, community service and an
interview.
